The FY 2022 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant application period opened on Monday, Feb. 13 and will close Friday, March 17. The SAFER grant was created to provide funding directly to fire departments to help them increase or maintain the number of trained fire fighters available in their communities.

Both take place Monday, May 1 – Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Maritime Conference Center in Linthicum Heights, Md. Applications for both the PTA and CTA programs are due by Thursday, Feb. 9. PSLF PROGRAM – Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program

The PSLF program offers complete federal student loan forgiveness after making 120 qualifying payments while working in public service. As you may know, since the Department of Education created a temporary PSLF waiver in October 2021, more than 70,000 student loan borrowers qualified for federal student loan forgiveness under the PSLF program, totaling close to $5 billion in relief.
