LEGISLATIVE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE UPFFA
- Monitor all legislation proposed before the Congress and State Legislature for impact on Connecticut professional fire fighters
- Introduce legislation before the State Legislature beneficial to Connecticut fire fighters
- Cooperate with the International Association of Fire Fighters on federal legislation and lobby Senators and Representatives on fire fighter issues
- Lobby members of the State Legislature, providing information to members that would help them make informed decisions concerning fire fighter issues
- Provide expert testimony before legislative committees and public hearings
- Attend all regular sessions of the state legislature and all committee meetings
- Attend meetings with other labor organizations to coordinate and support efforts of our labor friends
- Develop position papers on issues important to fire fighters
- Attend the annual legislative caucus in Washington DC
- Assist locals in developing and implementing Political Action Committees as well as offering political guidance
- Administer the UPFFA Fire Pac Fund. Offer support to friends of Fire Fighters
